Plastic baby bottles have received extra attention recently in some countries. The plastic of concern, polycarbonate  or PC (plastic #7), is used by several bottle manufacturers. There are other alternatives: glass, polypropylene (PP or plastic #5), and other materials are easily found on the market.

Polypropylene can be identified by the recycle code #5 and/or the symbol "PP" and is regarded as a safe, non-toxic plastic for food and beverage containers.
